DTN Closing Livestock Comment 05/02 15:32
Traders Keep the Livestock Contracts Elevated Through Friday's Close

Heading into Monday, it will be imperative to USDA reports to see how many
cattle sold this week as that will be indicative as to how aggressive packers
will be in next week's market.

GENERAL COMMENTS:

It was a fruitful day for the livestock complex as all three of the markets
ended the day stronger. It was especially a big-hitting week for the cattle
complex as traders pushed the contracts higher through Friday's close thanks to
the added support of yet-again record-breaking cash cattle prices. May corn is
down 3 cents per bushel and May soybean meal is up $3.70. The Dow Jones
Industrial Average is up 587.69 points and NASDAQ is up 266.85 points.
